Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 large tortilla large tortillas or wraps (whole wheat, spinach, or flour)
  • 3-4 ounces turkey (roasted or deli-sliced)
  • 1 avocado (ripe but not mushy) slice or lightly mash
  • 1 leaf crisp lettuce (romaine, butter, or shredded iceberg) for crunch
  • 1 tomato (thin slices or halved cherry) for juiciness
  • a little red onion for brightness
  • optional cucumber or bell pepper adds crunch
  • 1 slice cheese (Swiss, provolone, or mild cheddar) if desired
  • to taste sauce (mayo, hummus, mustard, or yogurt ranch) for tang
  • pinch salt and pepper to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. Warm your tortilla in a dry skillet for 10 to 15 seconds per side until pliable.
  2. Spread your sauce in a thin, even layer near the edge of the tortilla.
  3. Lay lettuce first to create a barrier, then add turkey slices.
  4. Add avocado on top of turkey and sprinkle a pinch of salt and pepper.
  5. Top with onion, tomato, cucumber or peppers, and cheese if using.
  6. Fold in the sides, then roll tightly away from you, pressing gently to keep it snug.
  7. Slice in half for easier eating or leave whole if you're on the move.

Notes

For meal prep, keep wet ingredients away from the tortilla. Store tomatoes separately if needed. A firm tuck while rolling helps keep the wrap tight.
