  • 4 pieces English muffins, split in half
  • 1 cup Pizza sauce or marinara Add a bit of olive oil
  • 2 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Sprinkle of Parmesan cheese Optional
Toppings
  • 1 cup Mini pepperoni
  • 1 cup Cooked sausage
  • 1 cup Sliced bell peppers Cooked to reduce moisture
  • 1 cup Mushrooms Cooked to reduce moisture
  • 1/2 cup Olives
Seasonings
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Red pepper flakes

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a sheet pan with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Toast the split English muffins lightly in the oven for about 3-5 minutes to help them stay crisp.
  3. Brush the cut sides of the muffins with olive oil and spoon on a thin layer of pizza sauce.
  4. Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese and add your favorite toppings.
Cooking
  1. Bake in the oven for 8 to 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and the edges are golden.
  2. If desired, broil for an additional 30 to 60 seconds for extra browning.
  3. Finish with a pinch of Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes.
  4. Let cool for a minute before serving.
