Preparation
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain off excess fat.
- Season the beef with salt, pepper, Italian herbs, and garlic.
Cooking
- Add the tomato sauce and water or beef broth to the beef, stirring to combine. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cook the pasta in a separate pot until just tender, then drain.
- Add the cooked pasta to the sauce mixture and stir well, adding more water if it looks dry.
- Stir in the cheese, cover, and let it melt for a few minutes.
Serving
- Let the skillet rest for about 5 minutes before serving to allow flavors to settle.
